Palestinian prisoner near death on hunger strike; joined by dozens of students in solidarity

Dozens of youth activists in Gaza have joined Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan in his hunger strike, that reached its 49th day last Saturday. Adnan started his strike to protest his detention without charges and the brutal treatment that he received from Israeli prison guards. Together with Adnan there are nearly three hundred Palestinians that are held without charges, the so called ‘administrative detention’. This type of detention can last for 6 months, and can be renewed for indefinite times. It is therefore said to be in violation of the forth Geneva Convention.
