Jordan mulling sanctions against Israel

King Abdullah II of Jordan

Various diplomatic moves against Israel have been considered by King of Jordan Abdullah II, who is frustrated by the current talks between Israelis and Palestinians in Amman. Unless Israel demonstrates it is willing to make considerable moves to reignite the stalled peace process, Abdullah may take steps towards a possible deterioration in Amman’s relationship with Jerusalem and a bolstering of ties with both the Jordanian Opposition and even Iran, sources told the Al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper.

Amman talks are seen as the last chance to broker an agreement that will allow the preliminary talks to continue and eventually mature into full-fledge negotiations.
