Major US-Israel military drill postponed to avoid escalation with Iran

The largest military drill to date between the United States and Israel, scheduled for spring, was postponed over unspecified budgetary reasons. This decision comes amid rising regional tensions between Iran on one hand, and Israel and the West on the other. An Israeli defense official said that the it was postponed “unnecessary headlines in such a tense period.” The postponement indeed suggests a willingness to prevent an escalation with Iran by the allies.
