Israel ups security abroad after Iran scientist killed

Even though Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in the killing of an Iranian nuclear scientist on Wednesday, it has increased the security of its delegations abroad in fear of an Iranian retaliation. Following the event, a newspaper known for its hard-line stance called on the Iranian authorities to avenge the killing. “We should retaliate against Israel for the martyring of our young scientist,” wrote Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief – who was appointed by Ali Khameini, the country’s Supreme Leader.
