IDF preparing to take in Syrian refugees

IDF Army Chief, Benny Gantz, has said that Israel is preparing for a flood of refugees into the Golan Heights if and when the Assad regime falls. In a meeting with the Knesset’s Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, Gantz said that members of the Alawite sect, which Assad is a member of, may seek refuge in Israel when Assad falls from power.
