Fatah: Hamas should overcome its leadership problem

Jamal Muhaisen, member of the Fatah Central Committee, told Gulf News that there is a leadership gap between Hamas officials in Gaza and leaders in Damascus. The officials coming from Damascus to discus Palestinian reconciliation with Fatah are following through on the Cairo agreement, whereas the officials in Gaza seem to ruin anything that was agreed upon, rejecting any Palestinian reconciliation. This comes on heels of Gaza Hamas officials refusing to allow Fatah officials into Gaza this weekend as well as Hamas’ objections to Fatah returning to the peace negotiation table with Israel in Amman.
