UK orders closure of Iranian embassy

Relations between Britain and Iran descended to their lowest level in more than 20 years on Wednesday when the UK government ordered the immediate closure of the Iranian embassy in London and closed its own mission in Tehran. In a hard-hitting response to the storming of the British embassy in Tehran by hundreds of Iranian students this week, the UK announced that it was immediately expelling all Iranian diplomats resident in the UK.
